Get ready for Ollerup
How do you prepare to go to sports college? It starts with doing sports – and preferably in good time.
An everyday life with many physical subjects
As a student at Ollerup, you have physical lessons every day, and it would be a clear advantage for you if you were in decent shape when your stay started. Do you already work out regularly? Keep it up!
If, on the other hand, you are going to start training, start well in advance of your stay. That way, you can build up your shape at a steady pace without overloading muscles and joints.
We experience that some arrive with untreated injuries, and therefore can’t participate in the physical parts of everyday life in the first part of the stay. That’s a shame – not only for their own sake, but for the sake of the community. Therefore, it’s important that you do something about your physical challenges before your stay – if nothing else, so you get clarity and time horizon on the injury.
We encourage you to prepare yourself physically for the stay here at Ollerup with a versatile workout. If you are active as a gymnast, dancer or something else, you’ll usually manage the change quite sensibly. If you haven’t been active for a long time, it’ll be a great personal advantage to start running a few times a week while at the same time going to the gym. Here it is especially important to remember the body core and the balance board to avoid ankle injuries.
Do NOT start 14 days before the stay – start earlier!
It’s about the fact that your body’s muscles and tendons need time to become strong. It can be tempting to go full throttle for 3 weeks, but that would make the chances of starting your stay with an injury unnecessarily high – and that would really be a shame!
We look forward to seeing you!
